Character and Leadership Development Program Overview
Our classes are A-G elective approved and can count towards either general elective or physical education (PE) credits. Once a student has participated in CLD classes for a year they can apply to become a member of the Leadership Group as part of the California Cadet Corps, creating leaders since 1911.
CLD classes have rotating instruction including one week inside to review CACC curriculum and one week outside for team-building and physical exercises. Students attend 10 weeks of classes to earn a PE or elective credit.

California Cadet Corps Program Overview
California Cadet Corps (CACC) has been creating student leaders since 1911. Altus schools host the CACC as part of its Character and Leadership Development (CLD) program. Leadership Cadets at Altus schools help plan and action events for San Diego, Southern California, and the entire state through the distinct levels of structure in CACC. Our CACC cadets learn how to manage time, work with other cadets, and balance their academics in pursuit of their own professional development.
Cadets in CACC in Altus Schools have gone on to be successful at four-year universities, military academies, and private industry. The skills and life lessons learned in CACC benefit our cadets in both their present and future goals. Leadership Cadets start their experience in CLD classes then apply to be part of the CACC team.
